Custom home builder · Spokane
Custom homes built around your vision, and a realistic plan.
Adept Construction builds distinctive custom homes throughout Eastern Washington and North Idaho. From Spokane and Liberty Lake to Coeur d'Alene, Sandpoint, Priest Lake, Moscow, and Pullman, we partner with homeowners and architects to turn ambitious designs into thoughtfully executed homes.
When to involve a builder
Before the drawings are finished.
By joining the project early, Adept can help evaluate construction costs, site conditions, materials, scheduling, and constructability while the design can still be adjusted.
This collaborative approach helps protect the client's priorities while reducing the risk of completing a beautiful design that cannot be built within the intended budget.
Plans not required
You don't need finished plans to contact us.
Some clients come to Adept with land, an architect, and completed drawings. Others are only beginning to explore what they can build. Both are welcome, but earlier is usually better.
Adept can help clients:
- Evaluate a potential building site
- Establish realistic early budget expectations
- Select and collaborate with an architect
- Review plans for constructability
- Identify expensive design decisions before documents are finalized
- Compare materials and construction approaches
- Anticipate scheduling and long-lead items
- Move from design into construction with fewer surprises
Our goal is not to compromise the design. It is to help the owner and architect make informed decisions so the design, budget, and construction plan support one another.
Our custom home process
Six steps, one clear plan.
- 01
Initial Conversation
We begin by learning about your property, architectural preferences, priorities, approximate investment, and desired timeline. Finished plans are not required.
- 02
Site and Project Evaluation
Our team evaluates the site, access, utilities, jurisdictional considerations, and other conditions that may influence design, cost, and scheduling.
- 03
Preconstruction and Budget Alignment
Adept works with the owner and architect to review the evolving design, develop realistic pricing, identify constructability concerns, and discuss alternatives where appropriate.
- 04
Construction Planning
Before construction begins, we establish the project schedule, coordinate trade partners, address material lead times, and create a clear plan for communication and decision-making.
- 05
Custom Home Construction
Our team manages the construction process with careful coordination, clear communication, and close attention to the architectural details that make the home unique.
- 06
Completion and Handover
We guide the owner through final walkthroughs, project closeout, and the transition into the completed home.

Do I need finished plans to contact Adept?
No. Some clients come to Adept with land, an architect, and completed drawings. Others are only beginning to explore what they can build. Both are welcome, but earlier is usually better.
Do I need to own land before contacting Adept?
No. You are welcome to contact us while evaluating potential properties. Early site input can help identify conditions that may affect the design or construction budget.
Do I need to hire an architect first?
No. Involving Adept before selecting or beginning work with an architect is often beneficial. We can help establish early project expectations and collaborate with the design team from the beginning.
Can Adept build from plans created by my architect?
Yes. Adept regularly collaborates with architects and designers to execute custom residential projects while respecting the design intent.
When should a builder become involved?
Ideally, during early design or even before design begins. Builder input during preconstruction can help keep the evolving plans aligned with site conditions, material costs, construction methods, and the client's intended investment.
How much does a custom home cost?
Every custom home is different. Site conditions, size, architectural complexity, materials, systems, and interior finishes all affect the investment. Adept begins with an initial conversation and develops more detailed pricing as the project and design become defined.
Start the conversation
Start the conversation before the plans are finished.
If you are considering a custom home, you do not need to wait until every decision has been made. An early conversation can help you understand the site, process, budget considerations, and next steps before investing heavily in design.
