Frequently asked questions

Good questions to ask early.

If yours isn't here, call us at 509-413-2105 or start a conversation below.

Do I need finished plans to contact Adept?

No. Some clients come to Adept with land, an architect, and completed drawings. Others are only beginning to explore what they can build. Both are welcome, but earlier is usually better.

Do I need to own land before contacting Adept?

No. You are welcome to contact us while evaluating potential properties. Early site input can help identify conditions that may affect the design or construction budget.

Do I need to hire an architect first?

No. Involving Adept before selecting or beginning work with an architect is often beneficial. We can help establish early project expectations and collaborate with the design team from the beginning.

Can Adept build from plans created by my architect?

Yes. Adept regularly collaborates with architects and designers to execute custom residential projects while respecting the design intent.

When should a builder become involved?

Ideally, during early design or even before design begins. Builder input during preconstruction can help keep the evolving plans aligned with site conditions, material costs, construction methods, and the client's intended investment.

How much does a custom home cost?

Every custom home is different. Site conditions, size, architectural complexity, materials, systems, and interior finishes all affect the investment. Adept begins with an initial conversation and develops more detailed pricing as the project and design become defined.

Does Adept also complete smaller residential projects?

Yes. Adept's work ranges from select remodeling projects to substantial custom residences. Project fit depends on scope, location, schedule, and the type of expertise required.

Where does Adept build?

Throughout Eastern Washington and North Idaho, including Spokane and Spokane Valley, Cheney and Medical Lake, Liberty Lake, Post Falls and Coeur d'Alene, Sandpoint and Priest Lake, Moscow and Pullman. Contact us if your property falls outside these areas. Project location, scope, and scheduling all influence where we can build.

Does Adept build commercial projects?

Yes. Adept delivers commercial construction and tenant improvements, including office remodels, with disciplined coordination, schedule awareness and clear communication.

Who builds the cabinetry?

Krafted Woodworking, Adept's in-house division for custom cabinetry and furniture. Keeping it in-house gives us control over deadlines and quality without outsourcing.

How do I know an email is really from Adept?

We only email from addresses ending in @adept-construction.com. If you get an email that looks like it's from us at any other address, please don't reply and call us at 509-413-2105.

Start the conversation

Start the conversation before the plans are finished.

If you are considering a custom home, you do not need to wait until every decision has been made. An early conversation can help you understand the site, process, budget considerations, and next steps before investing heavily in design.
